In accordance with all these words and with all this vision, Nathan spoke to David.

Your house and your kingdom shall be made sure forever before me; your throne shall be established forever.”

Then King David went in and sat before the Lord and said, “Who am I, O Lord God, and what is my house, that you have brought me thus far?

the king said to the prophet Nathan, “See now, I am living in a house of cedar, but the ark of God stays in a tent.”

In accordance with all these words and all this vision, Nathan spoke to David.

I did not shrink from doing anything helpful, proclaiming the message to you and teaching you publicly and from house to house,

for I did not shrink from declaring to you the whole purpose of God.

For I handed on to you as of first importance what I in turn had received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the scriptures
