In the twelfth year of King Ahaz of Judah, Hoshea son of Elah began to reign in Samaria over Israel; he reigned nine years.
Then Hoshea son of Elah made a conspiracy against Pekah son of Remaliah, attacked him, and killed him; he reigned in place of him, in the twentieth year of Jotham son of Uzziah.
In the seventeenth year of Pekah son of Remaliah, King Ahaz son of Jotham of Judah began to reign.
He did what was evil in the sight of the Lord, yet not like the kings of Israel who were before him.
In the third year of King Hoshea son of Elah of Israel, Hezekiah son of King Ahaz of Judah began to reign.
