King Hezekiah and the officials commanded the Levites to sing praises to the Lord with the words of David and of the seer Asaph. They sang praises with gladness, and they bowed down and worshiped.

Jehoiada assigned the care of the house of the Lord to the Levitical priests whom David had organized to be in charge of the house of the Lord, to offer burnt offerings to the Lord, as it is written in the law of Moses, with rejoicing and with singing, according to the order of David.

The people of Israel who were present at Jerusalem kept the Festival of Unleavened Bread seven days with great gladness, and the Levites and the priests praised the Lord day by day, accompanied by loud instruments for the Lord.

Then the whole assembly agreed together to keep the festival for another seven days, so they kept it for another seven days with gladness.

There was great joy in Jerusalem, for since the time of Solomon son of King David of Israel there had been nothing like this in Jerusalem.

When all the people of Israel saw the fire come down and the glory of the Lord on the temple, they bowed down on the pavement with their faces to the ground and worshiped and gave thanks to the Lord, saying, “For he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever.”

The people of Israel, the priests and the Levites, and the rest of the returned exiles celebrated the dedication of this house of God with joy.

With joy they celebrated the Festival of Unleavened Bread seven days, for the Lord had made them joyful and had turned the heart of the king of Assyria to them, so that he aided them in the work on the house of God, the God of Israel.

For in the days of David and Asaph long ago there was a leader of the singers, and there were songs of praise and thanksgiving to God.

Then they believed his words; they sang his praise.

Let Israel be glad in its Maker; let the children of Zion rejoice in their King.

Be glad in the Lord and rejoice, O righteous, and shout for joy, all you upright in heart.

The mighty one, God the Lord, speaks and summons the earth from the rising of the sun to its setting.

O come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the Lord, our Maker!

Worship the Lord in holy splendor; tremble before him, all the earth.

Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice.
