Thus the Israelites were subdued at that time, and the people of Judah prevailed because they relied on the Lord, the God of their ancestors.

He relied on the Lord, the God of Israel, so that there was no one like him among all the kings of Judah after him or among those who were before him.

O my God, in you I trust; do not let me be put to shame; do not let my enemies exult over me.

Nebuchadnezzar said, “Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who has sent his angel and delivered his servants who trusted in him. They disobeyed the king’s command and yielded up their bodies rather than serve and worship any god except their own God.

The Lord is good, a stronghold in a day of trouble; he protects those who take refuge in him,

so that we, who were the first to set our hope on Christ, might live for the praise of his glory.
