So David set out, he and the six hundred men who were with him. They came to the Wadi Besor, where those stayed who were left behind.
All his officials passed by him, and all the Cherethites, and all the Pelethites, and all the six hundred Gittites who had followed him from Gath passed on before the king.
David brought up the men who were with him, every one with his household, and they settled in the towns of Hebron.
So David set out and went over, he and the six hundred men who were with him, to King Achish son of Maoch of Gath.
But David went on with the pursuit, he and four hundred men; two hundred stayed behind, too exhausted to cross the Wadi Besor.
