if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, pray, seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

To you I lift up my eyes, O you who are enthroned in the heavens!

Hear the voice of my supplication, as I cry to you for help, as I lift up my hands toward your most holy sanctuary.

You forgave the iniquity of your people; you pardoned all their sin. Selah

The Lord passed before him and proclaimed, “The Lord, the Lord, a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness,

keeping steadfast love for the thousandth generation, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, yet by no means clearing the guilty, but visiting the iniquity of the parents upon the children and the children’s children to the third and the fourth generation.”

Never be rash with your mouth nor let your heart be quick to utter a word before God, for God is in heaven and you upon earth; therefore let your words be few.

For thus says the high and lofty one who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: I dwell in the high and holy place and also with those who are contrite and humble in spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble and to revive the heart of the contrite.

Although Daniel knew that the document had been signed, he continued to go to his house, which had windows in its upper room open toward Jerusalem, and to get down on his knees three times a day to pray to his God and praise him, just as he had done previously.

O Lord, hear; O Lord, forgive; O Lord, listen and act and do not delay! For your own sake, O my God, because your city and your people bear your name!”

To the Lord our God belong mercy and forgiveness, but we have rebelled against him

And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.

“Pray, then, in this way: Our Father in heaven, may your name be revered as holy.

If we confess our sins, he who is faithful and just will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
