When Hadad heard in Egypt that David slept with his ancestors and that Joab the commander of the army was dead, Hadad said to Pharaoh, “Let me depart, that I may go to my own country.”

Then he sent his brothers on their way, and as they were leaving he said to them, “Do not quarrel along the way.”

Abner said to David, “Let me go and rally all Israel to my lord the king, in order that they may make a covenant with you and that you may reign over all that your heart desires.” So David dismissed Abner, and he went away in peace.

The sister of Tahpenes gave birth by him to his son Genubath, whom Tahpenes weaned in Pharaoh’s house; Genubath was in Pharaoh’s house among the children of Pharaoh.

The Lord said to Moses in Midian, “Go back to Egypt, for all those who were seeking your life are dead.”

“Get up, take the child and his mother, and go to the land of Israel, for those who were seeking the child’s life are dead.”

She said, “According to your words, so be it.” She sent them away, and they departed. Then she tied the crimson cord in the window.

Then at the break of dawn Samuel called to Saul upon the roof, “Get up, so that I may send you on your way.” Saul got up, and both he and Samuel went out into the street.
