But if all prophesy, an unbeliever or outsider who enters is reproved by all and called to account by all.
Those who are spiritual discern all things, and they are themselves subject to no one else’s scrutiny.
Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and to the other apostles, “Brothers, what should we do?”
“Come and see a man who told me everything I have ever done! He cannot be the Messiah, can he?”
And when he comes, he will prove the world wrong about sin and righteousness and judgment:
Pursue love and strive for the spiritual gifts and especially that you may prophesy.
Otherwise, if you say a blessing with the spirit, how can anyone in the position of an outsider say the “Amen” to your thanksgiving, since the outsider does not know what you are saying?
