The faith that you have, have as your own conviction before God. Blessed are those who have no reason to condemn themselves because of what they approve.

Therefore I do my best always to have a clear conscience toward God and all people.

I know and am persuaded in the Lord Jesus that nothing is unclean in itself; but it is unclean for anyone who thinks it unclean.

Some believe in eating anything, while the weak eat only vegetables.

But those who have doubts are condemned if they eat, because they do not act from faith; for whatever does not proceed from faith is sin.

Some judge one day to be better than another, while others judge all days to be alike. Let all be fully convinced in their own minds.

Therefore you have no excuse, whoever you are, when you judge others; for in passing judgment on another you condemn yourself, because you, the judge, are doing the very same things.

I do not understand my own actions. For I do not do what I want, but I do the very thing I hate.

Wretched man that I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death?

It is not everyone, however, who has this knowledge. Since some have become so accustomed to idols until now, they still think of the food they eat as food offered to an idol; and their conscience, being weak, is defiled.

Indeed, this is our boast, the testimony of our conscience: we have behaved in the world with frankness and godly sincerity, not by earthly wisdom but by the grace of God—and all the more toward you.

My friends, if anyone is detected in a transgression, you who have received the Spirit should restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness. Take care that you yourselves are not tempted.

Who is wise and understanding among you? Show by your good life that your works are done with gentleness born of wisdom.

Beloved, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have boldness before God;
