One, the child of the slave, was born according to the flesh; the other, the child of the free woman, was born through the promise.
But what does it say? “The word is near you, on your lips and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith that we proclaim);
For it is written that Abraham had two sons, one by a slave woman and the other by a free woman.
By faith he received power of procreation, even though he was too old—and Sarah herself was barren—because he considered him faithful who had promised.
