But Moses said to the Lord, “O my Lord, I have never been eloquent, neither in the past nor even now that you have spoken to your servant; but I am slow of speech and slow of tongue.”

“No doubt you are the people, and wisdom will die with you.

But Moses said to God, “Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh, and bring the Israelites out of Egypt?”

Then Moses answered, “But suppose they do not believe me or listen to me, but say, ‘The Lord did not appear to you.’ ”

But Moses spoke to the Lord, “The Israelites have not listened to me; how then shall Pharaoh listen to me, poor speaker that I am?”

But Moses said in the Lord's presence, “Since I am a poor speaker, why would Pharaoh listen to me?”

Then I said, “Ah, Lord God! Truly I do not know how to speak, for I am only a boy.”

For I brought you up from the land of Egypt, and redeemed you from the house of slavery; and I sent before you Moses, Aaron, and Miriam.

So Moses was instructed in all the wisdom of the Egyptians and was powerful in his words and deeds.

For they say, “His letters are weighty and strong, but his bodily presence is weak, and his speech contemptible.”

I may be untrained in speech, but not in knowledge; certainly in every way and in all things we have made this evident to you.
