“Claudius Lysias to his Excellency the governor Felix, greetings.
I too decided, after investigating everything carefully from the very first, to write an orderly account for you, most excellent Theophilus,
with the following letter: “The brothers, both the apostles and the elders, to the believers of Gentile origin in Antioch and Syria and Cilicia, greetings.
Also provide mounts for Paul to ride, and take him safely to Felix the governor.”
He wrote a letter to this effect:
When they came to Caesarea and delivered the letter to the governor, they presented Paul also before him.
We welcome this in every way and everywhere with utmost gratitude.
But Paul said, “I am not out of my mind, most excellent Festus, but I am speaking the sober truth.
