Strengthen the weak hands, and make firm the feeble knees.

It shall be said, “Build up, build up, prepare the way, remove every obstruction from my people's way.”

Mortal, these men have taken their idols into their hearts, and placed their iniquity as a stumbling block before them; shall I let myself be consulted by them?

Because they ministered to them before their idols and made the house of Israel stumble into iniquity, therefore I have sworn concerning them, says the Lord God, that they shall bear their punishment.

You shall not revile the deaf or put a stumbling block before the blind; you shall fear your God: I am the Lord.

“Take care that you do not despise one of these little ones; for, I tell you, in heaven their angels continually see the face of my Father in heaven.

We who are strong ought to put up with the failings of the weak, and not to please ourselves.

Do not seek your own advantage, but that of the other.

But if someone says to you, “This has been offered in sacrifice,” then do not eat it, out of consideration for the one who informed you, and for the sake of conscience—

I mean the other's conscience, not your own. For why should my liberty be subject to the judgment of someone else's conscience?

Give no offense to Jews or to Greeks or to the church of God,

For if others see you, who possess knowledge, eating in the temple of an idol, might they not, since their conscience is weak, be encouraged to the point of eating food sacrificed to idols?

But when you thus sin against members of your family, and wound their conscience when it is weak, you sin against Christ.

To the weak I became weak, so that I might win the weak. I have become all things to all people, that I might by all means save some.

To my shame, I must say, we were too weak for that! But whatever anyone dares to boast of—I am speaking as a fool—I also dare to boast of that.

Who is weak, and I am not weak? Who is made to stumble, and I am not indignant?

We are putting no obstacle in anyone's way, so that no fault may be found with our ministry,

For you were called to freedom, brothers and sisters; only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for self-indulgence, but through love become slaves to one another.

See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the universe, and not according to Christ.

As servants of God, live as free people, yet do not use your freedom as a pretext for evil.

They promise them freedom, but they themselves are slaves of corruption; for people are slaves to whatever masters them.

But I have a few things against you: you have some there who hold to the teaching of Balaam, who taught Balak to put a stumbling block before the people of Israel, so that they would eat food sacrificed to idols and practice fornication.
