They brought in the ark of God, and set it inside the tent that David had pitched for it; and they offered burnt offerings and offerings of well-being before God.

David built houses for himself in the city of David, and he prepared a place for the ark of God and pitched a tent for it.


(But David had brought the ark of God up from Kiriath-jearim to the place that David had prepared for it; for he had pitched a tent for it in Jerusalem.)


He said to them, “You are the heads of families of the Levites; sanctify yourselves, you and your kindred, so that you may bring up the ark of the Lord, the God of Israel, to the place that I have prepared for it.


Rise up, O Lord, and go to your resting place, you and the ark of your might.


You shall present its fat from the sacrifice of well-being, as an offering by fire to the Lord: the whole broad tail, which shall be removed close to the backbone, the fat that covers the entrails, and all the fat that is around the entrails;


When David had finished offering the burnt offerings and the offerings of well-being, he blessed the people in the name of the Lord;


Then Solomon awoke; it had been a dream. He came to Jerusalem where he stood before the ark of the covenant of the Lord. He offered up burnt offerings and offerings of well-being, and provided a feast for all his servants.


Then the king, and all Israel with him, offered sacrifice before the Lord.

David assembled all Israel in Jerusalem to bring up the ark of the Lord to its place, which he had prepared for it.
