Lest strangers be filled with youi wealth; and youi labours [be] in the house of a stranger;

Strangers have devoured his strength, and he knows [it] not: yes, gray hairs are here and there upon him, yet he knows not.

Give not youi strength unto women, nor youi ways to that which destroys kings.

He will not regard any ransom; neither will he rest content, though youi give many gifts.

But as soon as this youri son was come, which has devoured youi living with prostitutes, youi have killed for him the fatted calf.

Lest youi give youi honour unto others, and youi years unto the cruel:

And youi mourn at the last, when youi flesh and youi body are consumed,

For by means of a whorish woman [a man is brought] to a piece of bread: and the adulteress will hunt for the precious life.

Whoso loves wisdom rejoices his father: but he that keeps company with harlots spends [his] substance.
