For a servant when he reigns; and a fool when he is filled with meat;

Delight is not seemly (fitting; proper) for a fool; much less for a servant to have rule over princes.


I have seen servants upon horses, and princes walking as servants upon the earth.


A poor man that oppresses the poor [is like] a sweeping rain which leaves no food.


And when he had brought him down, behold, [they were] spread abroad upon all the earth, eating and drinking, and dancing, because of all the great spoil (plunder; prey; booty) that they had taken out of the land of the P’lishtim [Immigrants], and out of the land of Y’hudah [Let Him (God) Be Praised].

Now the name of the man [was] Naval [fool]; and the name of his wife Avigayil [my father is joy]: and [she was] a woman of good understanding, and of a beautiful Countenance (Face, appearance; show favor): but the man [was] churlish and evil in his doings; and he [was] of the house of Kalev [Dog].


For three [things] the earth is disquieted, and for four [which] it cannot bear:


For an odious [woman] when she is married; and an handmaid that is heir to her mistress.


And [there was] a man in Ma’on [Habitation], whose possessions [were] in Carmel [Garden-land]; and the man [was] very great, and he had three thousand sheep, and a thousand goats: and he was shearing his sheep in Carmel [Garden-land].
