He that hastes to be rich [has] an evil eye, and considers not that poverty shall come upon him.
But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and [into] many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.
Eat youi not the bread of [him that has] an evil eye, neither desire youi his dainty meats:
A faithful man shall abound with blessings: but he that makes haste to be rich shall not be innocent.
Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness (being lustful, loose or lewd; promoting lustful desires in others), an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness:
‘may I not do according to my desire? Is there evil in your eyes when I am good?’
And it came to pass, when they had brought them forth abroad, that he said, Escape for youri life; look not behind youi, neither stay youi in all the plain; escape to the mountain, lest youi be consumed.
The thoughts of the diligent [tend] only to plenteousness; but of every one [that is] hasty only to lack.
He that oppresses the poor to increase his [riches, and] he that gives to the rich, [shall] surely [come] to lack.
