My son, be wise, and make my heart glad, that I may answer him that reproaches me.
The proverbs of Shlomo (Solomon) [Peace]. A wise son makes a glad father: but a foolish son [is] the heaviness of his mother.
So shall I have wherewith to answer him that reproaches me: for I trust in youri word.
I rejoiced greatly that I found of youri children walking in truth, as we have received a commandment from the Father.
For we have great joy and consolation in youri love, because the bowels (inward parts; affections) of the saints are refreshed by youri, brother.
Whoso loves wisdom rejoices his father: but he that keeps company with harlots spends [his] substance.
A wise son makes a glad father: but a foolish man despises his mother.
Be wise now therefore, O you2f kings: be instructed, you2f of the earth.
The sluggard [is] wiser in his own conceit than seven men that can render a reason.
A prudent [man] foresees the evil, [and] hides himself; [but] the simple pass on, [and] are punished.
