Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own conceit.


Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that you2f are thereunto called, that you2f should inherit a blessing.


And spoke to them after the counsel of the young men, saying, My father made your yoke heavy, and I will add to your yoke: my father [also] chastised you with whips, but I will chastise you with scorpions.

Yet Mikha’el [Who is Like God?] the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moshe [He Who Draws Out Of The Waters], dared (was bold enough) not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord - Kurios rebuke (reprimand; strongly warn; restrain) youi.


But they held their peace, and answered him not a word: for the king’s commandment was, saying, Answer him not.


Again he said to them: “Do not give holy flesh to dogs nor place your pearls before swine lest they chew them before you and turn to tear you to pieces”.


Speak not in the ears of a fool: for he will despise the wisdom of youi words.


[If] a wise man contends with a foolish man, whether he rage or laugh, [there is] no rest.
