A fool’s wrath is presently known: but a prudent [man] covers shame.
A fool utters all his mind: but a wise [man] keeps it in till afterwards.
For what reason, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:
Hatred stirs up strifes: but love covers all sins.
He that covers a transgression seeks love; but he that repeats a matter separates [very] friends.
He that [has] no rule over his own spirit [is like] a city [that is] broken down, [and] without walls.
Understanding [is] a wellspring of life unto him that has it: but the instruction of fools [is] folly.
Wisdom rests in the heart of him that has understanding: but [that which is] in the midst of fools is made known.
For wrath kills the foolish man, and envy slays the silly one.
[He that] speaks tshows forth righteousness: but a false witness deceit.
A stone [is] heavy, and the sand weighty; but a fool’s wrath [is] heavier than them both.
