The wicked works a deceitful work: but to him that sows righteousness [shall be] a sure reward.
He that digs a pit shall fall into it; and whoso breaks an hedge, a serpent shall bite him.
And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.
He that sows iniquity shall reap vanity: and the rod of his anger shall fail.
And they lay wait for their [own] blood; they lurk secretly for their [own] lives.
His own iniquities shall take the wicked himself, and he shall be held with the cords of his sins.
That you2f put off concerning the former Conversation (behavior; way of life; community) the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;
And he that reaps receives wages, and gathers fruit unto life eternal: that both he that sows and he that reaps may rejoice together.
Therefore God-Elōhīm (The Living Word) [The Many Powered] dealt well with the midwives: and the people multiplied, and waxed very mighty.
The labour of the righteous [tends] to life: the fruit of the wicked to sin.
Their heart is divided; now shall they be found faulty: he shall break down their altars, he shall spoil (plunder; prey; booty) their images.
