Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed [himself] to him that righteously:


In the multitude of words there wants not sin: but he that refrains his lips [is] wise.


And he spoke this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others:


And the P’rushim (Pharisees) [separatists] also, who were covetous, heard all these things: and they derided him.


He that despises his neighbour sins: but he that has mercy on the poor, happy [is] he.


But the people held their peace, and answered him not a word: for the king’s commandment was, saying, Answer him not.

[But] whoso commits adultery with a woman lacks understanding: he [that] does it destroys his own soul.


By the blessing of the upright the city is exalted: but it is overthrown by the mouth of the wicked.


A talebearer reveals secrets: but he that is of a faithful spirit conceals the matter.
