The wise in heart will receive commandments: but a babbling (chattering) fool shall fall.
Whoso loves instruction loves knowledge: but he that hates reproof (rebuke; scolding) [is] “stupid as a beast”.
Who [is] a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him show out of a good Conversation (behavior; way of life; community) his works with meekness of wisdom.
Give [instruction] to a wise [man], and he will be yet wiser: teach a just [man], and he will increase in learning.
A wise [man] will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels:
The words of a wise man’s mouth [are] gracious; but the lips of a fool will swallow (to approve, commend, accept) up himself.
In all labour there is profit: but the talk of the lips [tends] only to poverty.
The wisdom of the prudent [is] to understand his way: but the folly of fools [is] deceit.
He that keeps his mouth keeps his life: [but] he that opens wide his lips shall have destruction.
The wicked is snared by the transgression of [his] lips: but the just shall come out of trouble.
He that winks with the eye causes sorrow: but a babbling (chattering) fool shall fall.
Give me understanding, and I shall keep youri law; yea, I shall observe it with [my] whole heart.
Reprove not a scorner, lest he hate youi: rebuke (reprimand; strongly warn; restrain) a wise man, and he will love youi.
Wise [men] lay up knowledge: but the mouth of the foolish [is] near destruction.
