They on the rock [are they], which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away.
For Herod [heroic] feared Yochanan [Yehovah has graced], knowing that he was a just man and an holy, and observed him; and when he heard him, he did many things, and heard him gladly.
Then Shim’on [he has heard] himself believed also: and when he was baptized, he continued with Philip [friend of horses], and wondered, beholding the miracles and signs which were done.
And these are they by the way side, where the word is sown; but when they have heard, Satan [the adversary] comes immediately, and takes away the word that was sown in their hearts.
And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution arises for the word’s sake, immediately they are offended.
