Is it lawful for us to give tribute unto Caesar [venerable], or no?

And it yielded much increase unto the kings whom youi have set over us because of our sins: also they have dominion over our bodies, and over our cattle, at their pleasure, and we [are] in great distress.

After this man rose up Y’hudah [praised] of Galil [circuit, district] in the days of the taxing, and drew away much people after him: he also perished; and all, [even] as many as obeyed him, were dispersed.

Thus they spoke. He went into the house and Yeshua [God is Salvation] anticipated him saying to Kefa [pebble] “What is your judgment Kefa [pebble], the kings of the earth, from whom do they take tribute, from their sons or from foreigners?”

There were also that said, We have borrowed money for the king’s tribute, [and that upon] our lands and vineyards.

Since the days of our fathers [have] we [been] in a great trespass unto this day; and for our iniquities have we, our kings, [and] our priests, been delivered into the hand of the kings of the lands, to the sword, to captivity, and to a spoil (plunder; prey; booty), and to confusion of face, as [it is] this day.

Be it known now unto the king, that, if this city be built, and the walls set up [again, then] will they not pay toll, tribute, and custom, and [so] youi shall damage the revenue of the kings.

youi shall in any wise set [him] king over youi, whom the Lord-Yehōvah (Messiah Pre-Incarnate) youi God-Elōhīm (The Living Word) [The Many Powered] shall choose: [one] from among youi brethren shall youi set king over youi: youi may not set a stranger over youi, which [is] not youi brother.

And they asked him, saying, Master, we know that youi say and teaches rightly, neither accept youi the person [of any], but teaches the way of God-Theos truly:

But he perceived their craftiness, and said unto them, Why tempt you2f me?

And they began to accuse him, saying, We found this [fellow] perverting the nation, and forbidding to give tribute to Caesar [venerable], saying that he himself is Moshiach [Messiah] a King.

Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute [is due]; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour.
