Sichon [Warrior] king of the Emori [Highlanders], who dwelt in Heshbon [Stronghold], [and] ruled from ‘Aeo’er [Ruins], which [is] upon the bank of the river ‘Arnon [Rushing Stream], and from the middle of the river, and from half Gil’ad [Rocky Region], even unto the river Yabok [luxuriant emptying river], [which is] the border of the children of ‘Amon [Inbred];

And he rose up that night, and took his two wives, and his two women servants, and his eleven sons, and passed over the ford Yabok (emptying; to flow).

And Bela [Destruction] the son of ‘Azaz [strong], the son of Sh’ma [Hear], the son of Yo’el [Yehovah is God], who dwelt in ‘Aeo’er [Ruins], even unto Nevo [Prophet] and Ba’al-M’on [lord of the Habitation]:

O inhabitant of ‘Aeo’er [Ruins], stand by the way, and espy; ask him that flees, and her that escapes, [and] say, What is done?

After he had slain Sichon [Warrior] the king of the Emori [Highlanders], which dwelt in Heshbon [Stronghold], and ‘Og [Long-necked] the king of Bashan [Fruitful], which dwelt at ‘Ashtarot [Star] in Edre’i [Good Pasture]:
