Genesis 12:6

New Messianic Version Bible

And Avram (Exalted Father; Father Of Elevation) passed through the land unto the place of Sh’khem [back or shoulder, portion] (Shoulder), unto the plain of Giv’at-Moreh [Hill of Teacher] (teacher). And the Kena’ani (merchants; traders; or those that humble and subdue) [was] then in the land.

By faith he detained (held) in the land of promise, as [in] a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Yitz’khak [Laughter] and Ya’akov [He who grabs onto the heal of] [Heal of God], the heirs with him of the same promise:

[Are] they not on the other side Yarden [Descender], by the way where the sun goes down, in the land of the Kena’ani [Merchant], which dwell in the Champaign (a plain; field; flat, open land) over against Gilgal [A Wheel, Rolling], beside the plains of Giv’at-Moreh [Hill of Teacher]?

And they gave unto Ya’akov all the strange gods which [were] in their hand, and [all their] earrings which [were] in their ears; and Ya’akov hid them under the oak which [was] by Sh’khem [back or shoulder, portion].

Then Yeruba’al [let Ba’al defend], who [is] Gid’on [Hewer], and all the people that [were] with him, rose up early, and pitched beside the well of ‘Ein-Harod [spring of Herod (fear)]: so that the host of the Midyanim [Strife] were on the north side of them, by Giv’at-Moreh [Hill of Teacher], in the valley.

And there was a strife between the herdsmen of Avram’s (Exalted Father; Father Of Elevation) cattle and the herdsman of Lot’s (Covering) cattle: and the Kena’ani (merchants; traders; or those that humble and subdue) and the P’rizi dwelled then in the land.

And were carried over into Sh’khem [diligence], and laid in the sepulchre that Avraham [Exalted Father] bought for a sum of money of the sons of Emmor [the father] of Sh’khem [diligence].

Then comes he to a city of Shomron [watch mountain], which is called Sychar, near to the parcel of ground that Ya’akov [He who grabs onto the heal of] [Heal of God] gave to his son Yosef [God will add].

And Rechav’am [a people has enlarged] went to Sh’khem [Shoulder]: for all Yisra’el [He Holds Onto The Heel Of God] were come to Sh’khem [Shoulder] to make him king.

And Avi-Melekh [My Father is King] the son of Yeruba’al [let Ba’al defend] went to Sh’khem [Shoulder] unto his mother’s brethren, and communed with them, and with all the family of the house of his mother’s father, saying,

And the bones of Yosef [(God) He Shall Add], which the people of Yisra’el [He Holds Onto The Heel Of God] brought up out of Mitzrayim [Egypt - The Narrow Place], buried they in Sh’khem [Shoulder], in a parcel of ground which Ya’akov [Heal of God] bought of the sons of Hamor [male-donkey (ass)] the father of Sh’khem [Shoulder] for an hundred pieces of silver: and it became the inheritance of the children of Yosef [(God) He Shall Add].

And they appointed Kedesh [Holy Place] in Galil [circuit, district] in mount Naftali [My Wrestling], and Sh’khem [Shoulder] in mount Efrayim [Doubly Fruitful], and Kiryat-Arba [City of Arba (four)], which [is] Hevron [Seat of Association], in the mountain of Y’hudah [Let Him (God) Be Praised].

And when Sh’khem [back or shoulder, portion] the son of Hamor [male-donkey (ass)] (a donkey) the Hivi (villagers), prince of the country, saw her, he took her, and lay with her, and defiled her.

And Ya’akov (he who holds onto the heel of) came to Shalem, a city of Sh’khem [back or shoulder, portion], which [is] in the land of Kena’an (merchant; trader; or that humbles and subdues), when he came from Paddan-aram (a place of height; field; plain); and pitched his tent before the city.

And Kena’an (merchant; trader; or that humbles and subdues) begat (to be father of; be ancestor of) Tzidon (hunting; fishing) his firstborn, and Het (terror),

Then Yarov’am [the people will contend] built Sh’khem [Shoulder] in mount Efrayim [Doubly Fruitful], and dwelt in it; and went out from there, and built P’nu’el [Facing God].

God-Elōhīm (The Living Word) [The Many Powered] has spoken in his holiness; I will rejoice, I will divide Sh’khem [Shoulder], and measure (deal out) out the valley of Sukkot [Booths].

And Ya’akov (he who holds onto the heel of) said to Shim’on (heard; he who hears; man of hearing) and Levi (Levite) [Joined to] (joined), Youf have troubled me to make me to stink among the inhabitants of the land, among the Kena’ani (low/humbled ones; merchants) and the P’rizi (rustic or belonging to a village): and I [being] few in number, they shall gather themselves together against me, and slay me; and I shall be destroyed, I and my house.

And as troops of robbers wait for a man, [so] the company of priests murder in the way by consent: for they commit lewdness.
