Daniel 6:3New Messianic Version BibleThen this Dani’el [God is Judge] was preferred above the presidents and princes, because an excellent spirit [was] in him; and the king thought to set him over the whole realm. See the chapter |
Forasmuch as an excellent spirit, and knowledge, and understanding, interpreting of dreams, and showing of hard sentences, and dissolving of doubts, were found in the same Dani’el [God is Judge], whom the king named Belt-shatzar [lord of the straitened (impeded or restricted; narrowed, distressed)’s treasure]: now let Dani’el [God is Judge] be called, and he will show the interpretation.
The king cried aloud to bring in the astrologers, the Kasdim [clod-breakers], and the soothsayers. [And] the king spoke, and said to the wise [men] of Bavel (to jumble, or a confused medley of sounds; confusion; gate of the deity) (Babylon) [confusion], Whosoever shall read this writing, and show me the interpretation thereof, shall be clothed with scarlet, and [have] a chain of gold about his neck, and shall be the third ruler in the kingdom.
