Then Dani’el [God is Judge] requested of the king, and he set Shadrakh [royal, or the great scribe], Meishakh [guest of the king], and ‘Aved-N’go [servant of Nebo], over the affairs of the province of Bavel (to jumble, or a confused medley of sounds; confusion; gate of the deity) (Babylon) [confusion]: but Dani’el [God is Judge] [sat] in the gate of the king.

Unto whom the prince of the eunuchs gave names: for he gave unto Dani’el [God is Judge] [the name] of Belt-shatzar [lord of the straitened (impeded or restricted; narrowed, distressed)’s treasure]; and to Hananyah [God has favoured], of Shadrakh [royal, or the great scribe]; and to Michael [Who is what God is], of Meishakh [guest of the king]; and to ‘Azaryah [Yehovah has helped], of ‘Aved-N’go [servant of Nebo].


And when the virgins were gathered together the second time, then Mordekhai [little man] sat in the king’s gate.


Hate the evil, and love the good, and establish judgment in the gate: it may be that the Lord-Yehōvah (Messiah Pre-Incarnate) God-Elōhīm (The Living Word) [The Many Powered] Tz’va’ot [of the Heavenly Armies] will be gracious unto the remnant of Yosef [(God) He Shall Add].


In those days, while Mordekhai [little man] sat in the king’s gate, two of the king’s chamberlains, Bigtan [in their winepress] and Teresh [strictness], of those which kept the door, were exceedingly angry, and sought to lay hand on the king Achashverosh [I will be silent and poor].


Then Dani’el [God is Judge] went to his house, and made the thing known to Hananyah [God has favoured], Misha’el [Who is what God is], and ‘Azaryah [Yehovah has helped], his companions:


As for these four children, God-Elōhīm (The Living Word) [The Many Powered] gave them knowledge and skill in all learning and wisdom: and Dani’el [God is Judge] had understanding in all visions and dreams.


And all the princes of the king of Bavel (to jumble, or a confused medley of sounds; confusion; gate of the deity) (Babylon) [confusion] came in, and sat in the middle gate, [even] Nergal-Sar’etzer [prince of fire], Samgar-N’vo [sword of Nebo], Sars’khim [prince of eunuchs], Rav-Saris [chief eunuch], Nergal-Sar’etzer [prince of fire], Rav-Mag [chief magician], with all the residue (part that remains, the rest) of the princes of the king of Bavel (to jumble, or a confused medley of sounds; confusion; gate of the deity) (Babylon) [confusion].


When righteous [men] do rejoice, [there is] great glory: but when the wicked rise, a man is hidden.


And all the king’s servants, that [were] in the king’s gate, bowed, and reverenced Haman [magnificent]: for the king had so commanded concerning him. But Mordekhai [little man] bowed not, nor did [him] reverence.


And over these three presidents; of whom Dani’el [God is Judge] [was] first: that the princes might give accounts unto them, and the king should have no damage.


N’vukhadnetzar [May Nebo protect the crown] the king made an image of gold, whose height [was] threescore cubits, [and] the breadth thereof six cubits: he set it up in the plain of Dura, in the province of Bavel (to jumble, or a confused medley of sounds; confusion; gate of the deity) (Babylon) [confusion].
