And David [beloved] went and took the bones of Sha’ul [desired] and the bones of Y’honatan [Yehovah has Given] his son from the men of Yavesh-Gil’ad [Dry Hill of Testimony], which had stolen them from the street of Beit-Sh’an [house of ease], where the P’lishtim [Immigrants] had hanged them, when the P’lishtim [Immigrants] had slain Sha’ul [desired] in Gilboa [swollen heap]:

And the young man that told him said, As I happened by chance upon mount Gilboa [swollen heap], behold, Sha’ul [desired] leaned upon his spear; and, lo, the chariots and horsemen followed hard after him.

Now the P’lishtim [Immigrants] fought against Yisra’el [He Holds Onto The Heel Of God]: and the men of Yisra’el [He Holds Onto The Heel Of God] fled from before the P’lishtim [Immigrants], and fell down slain in mount Gilboa [swollen heap].

And the P’lishtim [Immigrants] gathered themselves together, and came and pitched in Shunem [Double Resting Place]: and Sha’ul [desired] gathered all Yisra’el [He Holds Onto The Heel Of God] together, and they pitched in Gilboa [swollen heap].

And it came to pass on the morrow, when the P’lishtim [Immigrants] came to strip the slain, that they found Sha’ul [desired] and his sons fallen in mount Gilboa [swollen heap].

And the battle went sore against Sha’ul [desired], and the archers hit him; and he was sore wounded of the archers.

Then said Sha’ul [desired] unto his armourbearer, Draw youri sword, and thrust me through with that; lest these uncircumcised come and thrust me through, and abuse me. But his armourbearer would not; for he was sore afraid. Therefore Sha’ul [desired] took a sword, and fell upon it.

And it was told David [beloved] what Ritzpah [pavement] the daughter of Ayah [falcon], the concubine of Sha’ul [desired], had done.

And he brought up from there the bones of Sha’ul [desired] and the bones of Y’honatan [Yehovah has Given] his son; and they gathered the bones of them that were hanged.

And the men of Y’hudah [Let Him (God) Be Praised] came, and there they anointed David [beloved] king over the house of Y’hudah [Let Him (God) Be Praised]. And they told David [beloved], saying, [That] the men of Yavesh-Gil’ad [Dry Hill of Testimony] [were they] that buried Sha’ul [desired].

They arose, all the valiant men, and took away the body of Sha’ul [desired], and the bodies of his sons, and brought them to Yavesh [dry], and buried their bones under the oak in Yavesh [dry], and fasted seven days.
