And the victory that day was [turned] into mourning unto all the people: for the people heard say that day how the king was grieved for his son.
The king’s wrath [is] as the roaring of a lion; but his favour [is] as dew upon the grass.
In the light of the king’s Countenance (Face, appearance; show favor) [is] life; and his favour [is] as a cloud of the latter rain.
And it was told Yo’av [Yehovah is father], Behold, the king weep and mourns for Avshalom [my father is peace].
And the people got them by stealth that day into the city, as people being ashamed steal away when they flee in battle.
Now Yo’av [Yehovah is father] the son of Tz’ruyah [balsam] perceived that the king’s heart [was] toward Avshalom [my father is peace].
