Now it came to pass after the death of Sha’ul [desired], when David [beloved] was returned from the slaughter of the ‘Amalekim [Dwellers in a Valley], and David [beloved] had abode two days in Ziklag [Winding];

Then Akhish [meaning disputed; I will blacken (or terrify) or only a man] gave him Ziklag [Winding] that day: wherefore Ziklag [Winding] pertains unto the kings of Y’hudah [Let Him (God) Be Praised] unto this day.

So Sha’ul [desired] died, and his three sons, and his armourbearer, and all his men, that same day together.

And they returned, and came to ‘Ein-Mishpat, which is Kadesh (to be consecrated, consecrated, sanctified), and struck all the country of the ‘‘Amalek [Dweller in a Valley] i, and also the Emorim (The Talkers) that dwelt in Hatzatzon-Tamar [palm-tree] (bitterness, palm tree).

And it came to pass, when David [beloved] and his men were come to Ziklag [Winding] on the third day, that the ‘Amalekim [Dwellers in a Valley] had invaded the south, and Ziklag [Winding], and smitten Ziklag [Winding], and burned it with fire;

Then said Sha’ul [desired] unto his armourbearer, Draw youri sword, and thrust me through with that; lest these uncircumcised come and thrust me through, and abuse me. But his armourbearer would not; for he was sore afraid. Therefore Sha’ul [desired] took a sword, and fell upon it.
