Then said Sha’ul [desired], I have sinned: return, my son David [beloved]: for I will no more do youi harm, because my soul was precious in youri eyes this day: behold, I have played the fool, and have erred exceedingly.

And David [beloved] dwelt with Akhish [meaning disputed; I will blacken (or terrify) or only a man] at Gat [Winepress], he and his men, every man with his household, [even] David [beloved] with his two wives, Achino’am [my brother is delight] the Yizre’elit [God Sows], and Avigayil [my father is joy] the Carmelit [garden-land], Naval [fool]’s wife.

And David [beloved] said unto Akhish [meaning disputed; I will blacken (or terrify) or only a man], If I have now found grace in youi eyes, let them give me a place in some town in the country, that I may dwell there: for why should youi servant dwell in the royal city with youi?

And all his servants passed on beside him; and all the K’reti [executioners], and all the P’leti [couriers], and all the Gittim [belonging to the winepress], six hundred men which came after him from Gat [Winepress], passed on before the king.
