And the three eldest sons of Yishai [I possess] went [and] followed Sha’ul [desired] to the battle: and the names of his three sons that went to the battle [were] ‘Eli’av [My Father is God] the firstborn, and next unto him Avinadav [my father is noble], and the third Shammah [astonishment].
And Yishai [I possess] begat (to be father of; be ancestor of) his firstborn ‘Eli’av [My Father is God], and Avinadav [my father is noble] the second, and Shim’a [fame] the third,
But Amnon [faithful] had a friend, whose name [was] Yonadav [Yehovah is willing] [Generous], the son of Shim’ah [report] David’s [beloved]’s brother: and Yonadav [Yehovah is willing] [Generous] [was] a very subtle man.
Again, Yishai [I possess] made seven of his sons to pass before Sh’mu’el [His name is El]. And Sh’mu’el [His name is El] said unto Yishai [I possess], The Lord-Yehōvah (Messiah Pre-Incarnate) has not chosen these.
