New Living Translation

Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the old heaven and the old earth had disappeared. And the sea was also gone.

In that day the Lord will take his terrible, swift sword and punish Leviathan, the swiftly moving serpent, the coiling, writhing serpent. He will kill the dragon of the sea.

Those who have been ransomed by the Lord will return. They will enter Jerusalem singing, crowned with everlasting joy. Sorrow and mourning will disappear, and they will be filled with joy and gladness.

“But those who still reject me are like the restless sea, which is never still but continually churns up mud and dirt.

“As surely as my new heavens and earth will remain, so will you always be my people, with a name that will never disappear,” says the Lord.

Then four huge beasts came up out of the water, each different from the others.

the creation looks forward to the day when it will join God’s children in glorious freedom from death and decay.

But the day of the Lord will come as unexpectedly as a thief. Then the heavens will pass away with a terrible noise, and the very elements themselves will disappear in fire, and the earth and everything on it will be found to deserve judgment.

But we are looking forward to the new heavens and new earth he has promised, a world filled with God’s righteousness.

Then I saw a beast rising up out of the sea. It had seven heads and ten horns, with ten crowns on its horns. And written on each head were names that blasphemed God.

And I saw a great white throne and the one sitting on it. The earth and sky fled from his presence, but they found no place to hide.

And the one sitting on the throne said, “Look, I am making everything new!” And then he said to me, “Write this down, for what I tell you is trustworthy and true.”

The sky was rolled up like a scroll, and all of the mountains and islands were moved from their places.
