Such is the fate of all who are greedy for money; it robs them of life.

If you set a trap for others, you will get caught in it yourself. If you roll a boulder down on others, it will crush you instead.

When you dig a well, you might fall in. When you demolish an old wall, you could be bitten by a snake.

But David learned of Saul’s plan and told Abiathar the priest to bring the ephod and ask the Lord what he should do.

Surely the Lord will strike Saul down someday, or he will die of old age or in battle.

What’s more, the Lord will hand you and the army of Israel over to the Philistines tomorrow, and you and your sons will be here with me. The Lord will bring down the entire army of Israel in defeat.”
