Jehoshaphat was a good king, following the ways of his father, Asa. He did what was pleasing in the Lord’s sight.

So Josiah removed all detestable idols from the entire land of Israel and required everyone to worship the Lord their God. And throughout the rest of his lifetime, they did not turn away from the Lord, the God of their ancestors.

I haven’t turned away from your regulations, for you have taught me well.

I have followed your commands, which keep me from following cruel and evil people.

Declare me innocent, O Lord, for I have acted with integrity; I have trusted in the Lord without wavering.
