The Lord thundered from heaven; the voice of the Most High resounded amid the hail and burning coals.

Are you as strong as God? Can you thunder with a voice like his?

At your command, the water fled; at the sound of your thunder, it hurried away.

He will rain down blazing coals and burning sulfur on the wicked, punishing them with scorching winds.

Let burning coals fall down on their heads. Let them be thrown into the fire or into watery pits from which they can’t escape.

He abandoned their cattle to the hail, their livestock to bolts of lightning.

From the throne came flashes of lightning and the rumble of thunder. And in front of the throne were seven torches with burning flames. This is the sevenfold Spirit of God.

Then the angel filled the incense burner with fire from the altar and threw it down upon the earth; and thunder crashed, lightning flashed, and there was a terrible earthquake.

Just as Samuel was sacrificing the burnt offering, the Philistines arrived to attack Israel. But the Lord spoke with a mighty voice of thunder from heaven that day, and the Philistines were thrown into such confusion that the Israelites defeated them.
