We blossom like a flower and then wither. Like a passing shadow, we quickly disappear.

For we were born but yesterday and know nothing. Our days on earth are as fleeting as a shadow.

I am fading like a shadow at dusk; I am brushed off like a locust.

Your name, O Lord, endures forever; your fame, O Lord, is known to every generation.

But the Lord reigns forever, executing judgment from his throne.

In the morning it blooms and flourishes, but by evening it is dry and withered.

God also said to Moses, “Say this to the people of Israel: Yahweh, the God of your ancestors—the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob—has sent me to you. This is my eternal name, my name to remember for all generations.

This is what the Lord says—Israel’s King and Redeemer, the Lord of Heaven’s Armies: “I am the First and the Last; there is no other God.

“Though you were once despised and hated, with no one traveling through you, I will make you beautiful forever, a joy to all generations.

But Lord, you remain the same forever! Your throne continues from generation to generation.

The eternal God is your refuge, and his everlasting arms are under you. He drives out the enemy before you; he cries out, ‘Destroy them!’

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
