For the Lord watches over the path of the godly, but the path of the wicked leads to destruction.

“But he knows where I am going. And when he tests me, I will come out as pure as gold.

The wicked will see this and be infuriated. They will grind their teeth in anger; they will slink away, their hopes thwarted.

When I am overwhelmed, you alone know the way I should turn. Wherever I go, my enemies have set traps for me.

I look for someone to come and help me, but no one gives me a passing thought! No one will help me; no one cares a bit what happens to me.

The Lord protects the foreigners among us. He cares for the orphans and widows, but he frustrates the plans of the wicked.

The enemy is finished, in endless ruins; the cities you uprooted are now forgotten.

There is a path before each person that seems right, but it ends in death.

The Lord detests the way of the wicked, but he loves those who pursue godliness.

The Lord is good, a strong refuge when trouble comes. He is close to those who trust in him.

“You can enter God’s Kingdom only through the narrow gate. The highway to hell is broad, and its gate is wide for the many who choose that way.

“I am the good shepherd; I know my own sheep, and they know me,

My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.

But God’s truth stands firm like a foundation stone with this inscription: “The Lord knows those who are his,” and “All who belong to the Lord must turn away from evil.”

These false teachers are like unthinking animals, creatures of instinct, born to be caught and destroyed. They scoff at things they do not understand, and like animals, they will be destroyed.

“He will protect his faithful ones, but the wicked will disappear in darkness. No one will succeed by strength alone.
