But when he learned that the new ruler of Judea was Herod’s son Archelaus, he was afraid to go there. Then, after being warned in a dream, he left for the region of Galilee.

The Lord keeps watch over you as you come and go, both now and forever.

For that is what God is like. He is our God forever and ever, and he will guide us until we die.

You guide me with your counsel, leading me to a glorious destiny.

Your own ears will hear him. Right behind you a voice will say, “This is the way you should go,” whether to the right or to the left.

Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the reign of King Herod. About that time some wise men from eastern lands arrived in Jerusalem, asking,

When Herod died, an angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt.

So Joseph got up and returned to the land of Israel with Jesus and his mother.

Then Jesus went from Galilee to the Jordan River to be baptized by John.

When Jesus’ parents had fulfilled all the requirements of the law of the Lord, they returned home to Nazareth in Galilee.

But Samuel asked, “How can I do that? If Saul hears about it, he will kill me.” “Take a heifer with you,” the Lord replied, “and say that you have come to make a sacrifice to the Lord.
