Both Mary Magdalene and the other Mary were sitting across from the tomb and watching.

After Jesus rose from the dead early on Sunday morning, the first person who saw him was Mary Magdalene, the woman from whom he had cast out seven demons.

He tried to get a look at Jesus, but he was too short to see over the crowd.

But Jesus’ friends, including the women who had followed him from Galilee, stood at a distance watching.

Don’t we have the right to bring a believing wife with us as the other apostles and the Lord’s brothers do, and as Peter does?

The only other apostle I met at that time was James, the Lord’s brother.

This letter is from James, a slave of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ. I am writing to the “twelve tribes”—Jewish believers scattered abroad. Greetings!
