“What do you want me to do for you?” Jesus asked. “My Rabbi,” the blind man said, “I want to see!”
That night God appeared to Solomon and said, “What do you want? Ask, and I will give it to you!”
They love to receive respectful greetings as they walk in the marketplaces, and to be called ‘Rabbi.’
“Don’t let anyone call you ‘Rabbi,’ for you have only one teacher, and all of you are equal as brothers and sisters.
Don’t be like them, for your Father knows exactly what you need even before you ask him!
“Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you.
“What is your request?” he asked.
Bartimaeus threw aside his coat, jumped up, and came to Jesus.
“Mary!” Jesus said. She turned to him and cried out, “Rabboni!” (which is Hebrew for “Teacher”).
The commander took his hand, led him aside, and asked, “What is it you want to tell me?”
Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.
