Then Jesus asked them, “When I sent you out to preach the Good News and you did not have money, a traveler’s bag, or an extra pair of sandals, did you need anything?” “No,” they replied.

“Take nothing for your journey,” he instructed them. “Don’t take a walking stick, a traveler’s bag, food, money, or even a change of clothes.

As the Scriptures say, “Those who gathered a lot had nothing left over, and those who gathered only a little had enough.”

He fed you with manna in the wilderness, a food unknown to your ancestors. He did this to humble you and test you for your own good.
