In panic I cried out, “I am cut off from the Lord!” But you heard my cry for mercy and answered my call for help.

I cry out, “My splendor is gone! Everything I had hoped for from the Lord is lost!”

One day Jesus told his disciples a story to show that they should always pray and never give up.

And even when you ask, you don’t get it because your motives are all wrong—you want only what will give you pleasure.

We give great honor to those who endure under suffering. For instance, you know about Job, a man of great endurance. You can see how the Lord was kind to him at the end, for the Lord is full of tenderness and mercy.
