Joshua 14:6

New Living Translation

A delegation from the tribe of Judah, led by Caleb son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite, came to Joshua at Gilgal. Caleb said to Joshua, “Remember what the Lord said to Moses, the man of God, about you and me when we were at Kadesh-barnea.

You will not enter and occupy the land I swore to give you. The only exceptions will be Caleb son of Jephunneh and Joshua son of Nun.

Two of the men who had explored the land, Joshua son of Nun and Caleb son of Jephunneh, tore their clothing.

For the Lord had said of them, “They will all die in the wilderness.” Not one of them survived except Caleb son of Jephunneh and Joshua son of Nun.

The only exceptions are Caleb son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite and Joshua son of Nun, for they have wholeheartedly followed the Lord.’

This is the blessing that Moses, the man of God, gave to the people of Israel before his death:

There has never been another prophet in Israel like Moses, whom the Lord knew face to face.

So Moses, the servant of the Lord, died there in the land of Moab, just as the Lord had said.

But you, Timothy, are a man of God; so run from all these evil things. Pursue righteousness and a godly life, along with faith, love, perseverance, and gentleness.

God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work.

Then Joshua and the Israelite army returned to their camp at Gilgal.

Hebron still belongs to the descendants of Caleb son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite because he wholeheartedly followed the Lord, the God of Israel.

Othniel, the son of Caleb’s brother Kenaz, was the one who conquered it, so Acsah became Othniel’s wife.

The people crossed the Jordan on the tenth day of the first month. Then they camped at Gilgal, just east of Jericho.
