Joshua 10:11

New Living Translation

As the Amorites retreated down the road from Beth-horon, the Lord destroyed them with a terrible hailstorm from heaven that continued until they reached Azekah. The hail killed more of the enemy than the Israelites killed with the sword.

Then the Lord rained down fire and burning sulfur from the sky on Sodom and Gomorrah.

The battle raged all across the countryside, and more men died because of the forest than were killed by the sword.

“Have you visited the storehouses of the snow or seen the storehouses of hail?

(I have reserved them as weapons for the time of trouble, for the day of battle and war.)

He will rain down blazing coals and burning sulfur on the wicked, punishing them with scorching winds.

He hurls the hail like stones. Who can stand against his freezing cold?

For the Lord will send a mighty army against it. Like a mighty hailstorm and a torrential rain, they will burst upon it like a surging flood and smash it to the ground.

The Lord will come as he did against the Philistines at Mount Perazim and against the Amorites at Gibeon. He will come to do a strange thing; he will come to do an unusual deed:

And the Lord will make his majestic voice heard. He will display the strength of his mighty arm. It will descend with devouring flames, with cloudbursts, thunderstorms, and huge hailstones.

Tell these whitewashers that their wall will soon fall down. A heavy rainstorm will undermine it; great hailstones and mighty winds will knock it down.

For the Lord your God is going with you! He will fight for you against your enemies, and he will give you victory!’

Then, in heaven, the Temple of God was opened and the Ark of his covenant could be seen inside the Temple. Lightning flashed, thunder crashed and roared, and there was an earthquake and a terrible hailstorm.

There was a terrible hailstorm, and hailstones weighing as much as seventy-five pounds fell from the sky onto the people below. They cursed God because of the terrible plague of the hailstorm.

The stars fought from heaven. The stars in their orbits fought against Sisera.
