His neighbors and others who knew him as a blind beggar asked each other, “Isn’t this the man who used to sit and beg?”

Then they reached Jericho, and as Jesus and his disciples left town, a large crowd followed him. A blind beggar named Bartimaeus (son of Timaeus) was sitting beside the road.

And when her neighbors and relatives heard that the Lord had been very merciful to her, everyone rejoiced with her.

As Jesus approached Jericho, a blind beggar was sitting beside the road.

Some said he was, and others said, “No, he just looks like him!” But the beggar kept saying, “Yes, I am the same one!”

So the two of them continued on their journey. When they came to Bethlehem, the entire town was excited by their arrival. “Is it really Naomi?” the women asked.

He lifts the poor from the dust and the needy from the garbage dump. He sets them among princes, placing them in seats of honor. For all the earth is the Lord’s, and he has set the world in order.

But the officers of Achish were unhappy about his being there. “Isn’t this David, the king of the land?” they asked. “Isn’t he the one the people honor with dances, singing, ‘Saul has killed his thousands, and David his ten thousands’?”
