Then Jacob called together all his sons and said, “Gather around me, and I will tell you what will happen to each of you in the days to come.

In the last days, the mountain of the Lord’s house will be the highest of all— the most important place on earth. It will be raised above the other hills, and people from all over the world will stream there to worship.

This is what the Lord says— your Redeemer and Creator: “I am the Lord, who made all things. I alone stretched out the heavens. Who was with me when I made the earth?

I am the one who made the earth and created people to live on it. With my hands I stretched out the heavens. All the stars are at my command.

For the Lord is God, and he created the heavens and earth and put everything in place. He made the world to be lived in, not to be a place of empty chaos. “I am the Lord,” he says, “and there is no other.

The fierce anger of the Lord will not diminish until it has finished all he has planned. In the days to come you will understand all this.

But I will restore the fortunes of Moab in days to come. I, the Lord, have spoken!” This is the end of Jeremiah’s prophecy concerning Moab.

and you will attack my people Israel, covering their land like a cloud. At that time in the distant future, I will bring you against my land as everyone watches, and my holiness will be displayed by what happens to you, Gog. Then all the nations will know that I am the Lord.

Now I am here to explain what will happen to your people in the future, for this vision concerns a time yet to come.”

But there is a God in heaven who reveals secrets, and he has shown King Nebuchadnezzar what will happen in the future. Now I will tell you your dream and the visions you saw as you lay on your bed.

But afterward the people will return and devote themselves to the Lord their God and to David’s descendant, their king. In the last days, they will tremble in awe of the Lord and of his goodness.

In the last days, the mountain of the Lord’s house will be the highest of all— the most important place on earth. It will be raised above the other hills, and people from all over the world will stream there to worship.

Now I am returning to my own people. But first let me tell you what the Israelites will do to your people in the future.”

The enemy who planted the weeds among the wheat is the devil. The harvest is the end of the world, and the harvesters are the angels.

But even as he spoke, a bright cloud overshadowed them, and a voice from the cloud said, “This is my dearly loved Son, who brings me great joy. Listen to him.”

“But when the tenant farmers saw his son coming, they said to one another, ‘Here comes the heir to this estate. Come on, let’s kill him and get the estate for ourselves!’

But Jesus remained silent. Then the high priest said to him, “I demand in the name of the living God—tell us if you are the Messiah, the Son of God.”

Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth.

And a voice from heaven said, “This is my dearly loved Son, who brings me great joy.”

This is the Good News about Jesus the Messiah, the Son of God. It began

until there was only one left—his son whom he loved dearly. The owner finally sent him, thinking, ‘Surely they will respect my son.’

“But the tenant farmers said to one another, ‘Here comes the heir to this estate. Let’s kill him and get the estate for ourselves!’

He came into the very world he created, but the world didn’t recognize him.

So the Word became human and made his home among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness. And we have seen his glory, the glory of the Father’s one and only Son.

God created everything through him, and nothing was created except through him.

Jesus knew that the Father had given him authority over everything and that he had come from God and would return to God.

And since God receives glory because of the Son, he will give his own glory to the Son, and he will do so at once.

I no longer call you slaves, because a master doesn’t confide in his slaves. Now you are my friends, since I have told you everything the Father told me.

All that belongs to the Father is mine; this is why I said, ‘The Spirit will tell you whatever he receives from me.’

For you have given him authority over everyone. He gives eternal life to each one you have given him.

“For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.

A debate broke out between John’s disciples and a certain Jew over ceremonial cleansing.

The Father has life in himself, and he has granted that same life-giving power to his Son.

And he has given him authority to judge everyone because he is the Son of Man.

We know God spoke to Moses, but we don’t even know where this man comes from.”

This is the message of Good News for the people of Israel—that there is peace with God through Jesus Christ, who is Lord of all.

‘In the last days,’ God says, ‘I will pour out my Spirit upon all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy. Your young men will see visions, and your old men will dream dreams.

and he was shown to be the Son of God when he was raised from the dead by the power of the Holy Spirit. He is Jesus Christ our Lord.

And since we are his children, we are his heirs. In fact, together with Christ we are heirs of God’s glory. But if we are to share his glory, we must also share his suffering.

No, the wisdom we speak of is the mystery of God—his plan that was previously hidden, even though he made it for our ultimate glory before the world began.

But for us, There is one God, the Father, by whom all things were created, and for whom we live. And there is one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things were created, and through whom we live.

But when the right time came, God sent his Son, born of a woman, subject to the law.

And this is the plan: At the right time he will bring everything together under the authority of Christ—everything in heaven and on earth.

I was chosen to explain to everyone this mysterious plan that God, the Creator of all things, had kept secret from the beginning.

Moses continued, “The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your fellow Israelites. You must listen to him.

I know that after my death you will become utterly corrupt and will turn from the way I have commanded you to follow. In the days to come, disaster will come down on you, for you will do what is evil in the Lord’s sight, making him very angry with your actions.”

“In the distant future, when you are suffering all these things, you will finally return to the Lord your God and listen to what he tells you.

For God never said to any angel what he said to Jesus: “You are my Son. Today I have become your Father.” God also said, “I will be his Father, and he will be my Son.”

But to the Son he says, “Your throne, O God, endures forever and ever. You rule with a scepter of justice.

By faith we understand that the entire universe was formed at God’s command, that what we now see did not come from anything that can be seen.

So what makes us think we can escape if we ignore this great salvation that was first announced by the Lord Jesus himself and then delivered to us by those who heard him speak?

But Christ, as the Son, is in charge of God’s entire house. And we are God’s house, if we keep our courage and remain confident in our hope in Christ.

So then, since we have a great High Priest who has entered heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to what we believe.

Even though Jesus was God’s Son, he learned obedience from the things he suffered.

The law appointed high priests who were limited by human weakness. But after the law was given, God appointed his Son with an oath, and his Son has been made the perfect High Priest forever.

There is no record of his father or mother or any of his ancestors—no beginning or end to his life. He remains a priest forever, resembling the Son of God.

If that had been necessary, Christ would have had to die again and again, ever since the world began. But now, once for all time, he has appeared at the end of the age to remove sin by his own death as a sacrifice.

God chose him as your ransom long before the world began, but now in these last days he has been revealed for your sake.

Most importantly, I want to remind you that in the last days scoffers will come, mocking the truth and following their own desires.

They told you that in the last times there would be scoffers whose purpose in life is to satisfy their ungodly desires.
