About this time, Judah left home and moved to Adullam, where he stayed with a man named Hirah.

Some years later Judah’s wife died. After the time of mourning was over, Judah and his friend Hirah the Adullamite went up to Timnah to supervise the shearing of his sheep.

Later Judah asked his friend Hirah the Adullamite to take the young goat to the woman and to pick up the things he had given her as his guarantee. But Hirah couldn’t find her.

Once during the harvest, when David was at the cave of Adullam, the Philistine army was camped in the valley of Rephaim. The Three (who were among the Thirty—an elite group among David’s fighting men) went down to meet him there.

One day Elisha went to the town of Shunem. A wealthy woman lived there, and she urged him to come to her home for a meal. After that, whenever he passed that way, he would stop there for something to eat.

Walk with the wise and become wise; associate with fools and get in trouble.

Leave your simple ways behind, and begin to live; learn to use good judgment.”

O people of Mareshah, I will bring a conqueror to capture your town. And the leaders of Israel will go to Adullam.
